Ten Ways to Take Action
Closing a facility like MVPC takes sustained effort: public pressure, legislative shift, legal accountability, and community power. Every action shifts the narrative — from detention as business to dignity as right.
Action 1: Make a Call
We coordinate monthly call-in days on the 2nd Tuesday of the month — but you don't have to wait. Call the commissioners directly at 814-765-2642 Ext. 5051. Organize a call-in day with co-workers over lunch.
Action 2: Write a Letter or Email
Write to the Clearfield County Commissioners in your own words. Organize a letter-writing party. Send postcards every time you read a new story about Moshannon.

Action 3: Sign & Share the Petition
Take 30 seconds to add your name and share with your networks. Every signature is a message to Clearfield County that Pennsylvania is watching.

Action 4: Send a Video Message
Record a 30–60 second video on your phone and email it directly to the commissioners. Sample script: "Commissioner Winters, Sobel, and Glass — end the ICE contract today."
Action 5: Organize a Local Event
Host a candlelight vigil or protest. Give a presentation at your church, neighborhood association, or book club. Ask your city council to pass a resolution calling on the commissioners to end the contract.
Action 6: Attend a Commissioner Meeting
Show up and speak directly. Commissioner meetings are every 2nd and 4th Tuesday at 10:30am at 212 East Locust Street, 1st Floor, Clearfield, PA 16830.

Action 8: Occupy the Lot
